Qualified Newborn and Baby Photographer – Sandbach, Cheshire.

What does it mean to be a ‘qualified’ photographer?

Mabel (2 of 62) newborn-baby-qualified

Directly from the Photographers’ Guild:

“OurΒ ‘Qualified’ statusΒ is therefore aligned to standards of competence that reflect a level where the customer should be ‘pleased with the results’, when employing the services of a skilled tradesman (the photographer). In other words ‘Qualified’ indicates professional ‘competence’ to a level where the Guild is willing to recognise the photographer as an ambassador of the association , so those who achieve that level should be proud of doing so.”

Basically, it means that my customers can rest assured that they are guaranteed to receive a collection of images that are of a very high standard and that my work is consistent and I am well skilled in what I do.

Sassa (20 of 56)

I’m incredibly proud to receive this honour. The Photographers’ Guild are a prestigious organisation whose judges are incredibly stringent and look at every little technical and artistic detail in your work.

Mabel - bronze

To achieve ‘Qualification’ with the Guild you must submit a panel of 21 images. They should consist of 3 images from 7 different sessions that have been taken by me, within the last 2 years. They should all be different and show a variety of skills whilst also working all together as a collection of images.

You must show that you are highly competent at using your camera whilst also having the ability to set up a shot and get the lighting perfect. All whilst keeping a baby safe and comfortable… easy! πŸ™‚

When I think back to what I’ve achieved this year, I couldn’t be more proud. I originally ventured into photography so that I could have a more flexible career than teaching to enable me to take my son to hospital for all his appointments. He was diagnosed with achondroplasia this time last year and our lives were tipped upside down at that point.

I never dreamt that this new career would rocket so quickly. I’ve finally found my ‘thing’ that I absolutely love doing but also am pretty good at! πŸ™‚ In a year I’ve won a number of awards, have an amazing collection of wonderful customers and now my skills are recognised with this prestigious honour of being ‘qualified’!

Next year, I’ll be attending the Guild Awards ceremony at Crewe Hall and then it’ll be full steam ahead to go for ‘Craftsman’! The next stage of qualification with the Guild.

Thank you so much to all my fantastic customers, it’s been absolutely wonderful meeting you all this year and I want to reach out with all my heart to thank you for trusting me with your newborns but also trusting me to capture those first photographs in my own, creative way! I couldn’t be happier and more proud of my little business and can’t wait to see what the future holds! πŸ™‚

Sassa – Beautiful princess from Altrincham

Sassa (10 of 13)

The name Sassa may be unusual but it’s completely understandable why Mum and Dad chose it. It’s a Swedish name which means ‘Beautiful princess’ – a completely fitting name for such a beautiful baby girl!

Sassa (2 of 13)

Baby Sassa was accompanied to her newborn photo session with her new parents and doting fur brothers! So gorgeous. They were so well behaved it made me Google where to buy Boston Terriers after the shoot! πŸ™‚

Sassa (8 of 13)

Sassa’s lucky parents were bought their photo shoot as a gift from a work partner. Newborn shoots are so special, they really aren’t this size for very long! A photo shoot is a great way to preserve the moment and makes a lovely gift.

I hope you enjoy Sassa’s beautiful images. Feel free to leave a comment if you do and if you’d like to book your own shoot then contact me for more info!

Cheshire Newborn Photographer – Baby Oscar from Nantwich. Bump to baby photography!

Sarah-16Oscar (7 of 14)

Sarah’s beautiful bump photos lead to her even more beautiful little man – Baby Oscar!

Sarah contacted me after she saw some of my lovely maternity photographs that I’ve been doing recently. I love the striking, artistic styling and beautiful colours! I’ve got a collection of stunning, designer maternity gowns from Sew Trendy Accessories in America and Mii Estilo in Spain that ensure you look absolutely outstanding during your pregnancy.

Sarah and her husband came to the studio for a maternity shoot to also celebrate their first wedding anniversary. The connection and love between the two of them was so visible, it was an honour to capture the moment for them.

Just a few weeks later and the gorgeous little Oscar was born! Sarah booked straight in and they really enjoyed returning to my familiar little home studio for a rest while I looked after Oscar!

We had an African and travel theme for a few of the photographs as it’s a special place in the heart of Oscar’s parents.

Oscar was a superstar throughout his session and I think his parents really enjoyed seeing how peaceful he was in various poses and outfits! Like all babies, he especially enjoyed being wrapped up in knitted wraps and bonnets. πŸ™‚

Check out the rest of his photographs and please feel free to leave a comment and share this blog to show your love! πŸ™‚

Newborn photographer – Cheshire. Baby Daniel’s baby pictures!

Baby Photographer in Sandbach, Cheshire.

Baby Daniel and his stunning older sister come for his newborn photo shoot to my home studio in Sandbach.

When Daniel’s parents got in touch to book their newborn session, we discussed likes and dislikes and I came up with the colour scheme of brown and blue to represent their love of sailing. Baby Daniel suited the colours so much! Just stunning.

I think in this image, he looks like he’s tucked up in his little boat, battling the sea!

He was so well behaved throughout the whole session along with his stunning older sister. I can’t wait to see both of them back for photo shoots in the future!

Baby Willow’s baby photos.

Willow_Newborn (1 of 14)

Baby Willow’s father contacted me after Willow had already been born. He told me his wife was in love with my photos and was pestering him to get them booked in ASAP! Always lovely to hear and even after baby has been born, I try my best to fit customers in.

Willow_Newborn (3 of 14)

Mum wanted lots of pink after her first child was a boy. I don’t usually do a lot of pink but recently customers have been requesting it as their second child is a girl and they are sick of blue in the house! πŸ™‚

Willow_Newborn (5 of 14)

Willow seemed to really enjoy her session, smiling throughout! We did a few different prop set ups and lots of beanbag posing. We went really mad on the pink theme! haha.

Willow was over 3 weeks old during her newborn shoot, I take babies up to 6 weeks old, you just have to expect them to be a little more awake during their shoot after 2 weeks old! The ideal stage is 5-10 days as baby is in an established feeding routine but is still all curled up and easy to pose as well as sleepy.

If your baby has already been born and you’re worried about missing your newborn slot…

Newborn photography Cheshire – Baby Freddy – Sandbach

Freddy’s baby photos – Sandbach, Cheshire

“Sometimes the smallest things take the most room in your heart” – Winnie the Pooh

It was such an honour to photograph this family’s beautiful little baby boy – Freddy.

We had a great time during the session and Louise really enjoyed my snippets of ‘wisdom’ about anything from breastfeeding to the ‘magic hold’ to comfort a crying baby. She even downloaded the white noise app that I use during sessions and read my blog on how to get babies to sleep whilst she was here! πŸ™‚

Louise and Matt were really keen to let me express my creativity and luckily we were all in an animal mood – Freddy got the full knitted animal costume treatment! He seemed to really enjoy it to be honest! He snoozed his was through the session peacefully and let me pose him any way I liked. His favourite was to be wrapped up and put in different props and positions.

Freddy is such a handsome baba and probably has the longest, most elegant fingers I’ve ever seen! ❀

Maternity photographer – Sandbach, Cheshire. Georgie’s bump pictures!

Cheshire pregnancy photographer – Georgie’s bump photos!

“I grow humans – what’s your superpower?”

I remember vividly the fun I used to have running around Georgie’s house when we were little. Hiding in cubby holes, playing on the stairs, running from one end to the other or playing out in the garden (usually with imaginary horses! Haha :))

As we both hit puberty, Georgie witnessed mine and my now husband’s rocky teenage love affair of 4 whole days and one kiss! Back on the good old K61 bus to school.

When we went off to college we went our separate ways after being best friends for our whole childhoods. Our lives took different turns and over 500 miles separated us at university.

Years later, as soon as I began my photography journey, Georgie got in touch. She was one of the first to put her faith in me and book her friends in with me, paying for their sessions as gifts. Now, come September, Georgie will be having her own baby photographed by me and I couldn’t be more excited!

As a thank you for her continued support, and a chance to show off my gorgeous new maternity gowns, I offered to do Georgie’s maternity photos!

She couldn’t look more stunning. Her bump is absolutely beautiful and she’s mastered the serene yet powerful facial expressions. I think a tiny bit of nervousness is present too in these photos as she anticipates the birth of her first child. It’s an anxious time as there are so many tales of birth and the first few weeks but overall, her excitement for the months to come shines through.

If you have a newborn session booked in with Little Primrose Photography, you have the opportunity to book a maternity shoot for just Β£195 which includes all digitals (at least 10, hand edited, stunning HD images). For more information click here.Β

Pregnancy is such a special time in a woman’s life, capture the moment before it disappears forever. Although you may feel bloated or completely different from your previous self, with a little subtle lighting, a stunning designer gown and a tiny bit of photoshop magic, you’ll get a collection of images you never imaged you could look like! So powerful and magestic!

Newborn photographer in Cheshire. Connie – baby photos – Sandbach

Newborn photography – Sandbach, Cheshire – Baby Connie

“Good morning starshine, the earth says hello!”

Last year, I set up my photography business and I knew that newborn is the direction that I wanted to head in. I did a few shoots for friends and was sure it was definitely my absolute dream job!

Just after Christmas, I began promoting my work and Leanne (Connie’s mum) got in touch. I was so happy that she loved my work and trusted me before I’d even had official newborn training. She was willing to book months in advance as she anticipated her new arrival and looked forward to her newborn shoot!

Since then, I’ve trained with the best newborn photographers in the world. I’ve won 16 bronze awards with The Photographers’ Guild and I’ve gained a lot of experience after photographing so many more beautiful babies! Someone told me the other day that they were amazed as I’d gone from ‘nought to excellent!’ hahaha.

To see my awards, check out this link

I was so excited to welcome another beautiful girl into the studio and Connie didn’t disappoint. Her hair is stunning and that cute little face and pout! ❀ ❀ ❀

We embraced the pink as Connie’s parents were used to so many boyish colours in the house after 22 months of the lovely Duggee in their lives! They were ready to break out the feminine colours.

Connie was brilliant throughout her shoot, so settled and relaxed and loved being wrapped up snug.

Enjoy the gorgeous images and if you like my pics please feel free to give my page a like and share!

Newborn photographer – Sandbach, Middlewich, Nantwich, Holmes chapel – Cheshire – Baby Amber

Newborn baby portrait photographs – Amber

A couple of weeks ago baby Amber and her family visited the studio. She came with her parents and her VERY well behaved big brother!

After having a boy, mum and dad were quite keen to use a pink colour scheme so we went with it! I’m not usually a fan of pink as I prefer to stick to very neutral, earthy tones but as I’d been given a blush pink backdrop and matching accessories on my last training session I decided to give it a whirl! I was pleasantly surprised! I think it’s really subtle and beautiful!

Amber was a superstar – she really enjoyed posing for the camera and we managed to get lots of shots of her and her brother; two different props and lots of beanbag poses plus the essential family portraits too!

I decided to co-ordinate the pink with a little bit of forest green when she was in the bed prop. So beautiful! She looks like a little wood nymph.

Here’s a couple of behind the scenes videos so you can see what we got up to:

Check out her gorgeous pictures below!

Please get in touch if you’d like to book your own photo shoot.

Newborn baby photographer – Sandbach, Cheshire – James

James – May 19th 2017

Newborn and baby photography in and around Sandbach, Cheshire.

James’s Mum saw my images on Facebook after James was born. She fell in love with my style and really wanted a newborn portrait session but she was concerned that she might be too late as James was already here! Luckily, I had some availability and we brought James in along with his loving parents and a beautiful horses saddle! Obviously this had to be used! James didn’t go anywhere near the saddle – as baby safety is paramount, this shot was created by compositing two images together, one of the saddle and one of James, safely on my beanbag.

James was an absolute superstar for his entire session! We managed to get several different props and set ups as well as a range of beanbag poses and parents images.

I think James’s parents really enjoyed the peaceful moments together as a new family. Sometimes a newborn shoot is enjoyable simply because it gives you time on your own, away from the barrage of visitors and you can enjoy those hours together as you watch your baby being dressed up in adorable outfits and settled into a deep sleep in stunning props and positions.

On the very same afternoon, Tori left a 5* review of Little Primrose Photography and said:

“We had such an amazing time this morning with James!! Cannot wait to see the pictures thank you so much xx”

If you’d like to book your newborn shoot, please contact me after your 20 week scan for guaranteed availability. If your baby has already been born, it’s always worth asking as I may have space to fit you in! πŸ™‚ Contact me.
